Saw this on Instapundit and HotAir (though I only watched it in one place). This is Dan Mitchell from the Center for Freedom and Prosperity, and he discusses the reasons for the corruption and a pretty simple way to combat it. As he says, the corruption is a problem on BOTH sides of the aisle! The corruption is not a Republican thing, and it’s not a Democrat thing. Though I’m wondering if Nancy Pelosi will ever be called out by someone in the Mainstream Media for her “Most Ethical Congress EVER!” statement.
It’s only 5 minutes, so don’t expect every I to be dotted, and every T to be crossed, but the reasoning is sound. The video is there to get you to understand why government will never clean up corruption on its’ own. Government cleaning up government corruption is as good of an example of the fox guarding the henhouse as I’ve ever seen. The bottom line is that it’s up to all of US to get our elected representatives to pare down this mess in Washington.
So the question is, how do you decrease the size of government when the government is in making all the rules? How does the general populous make the sweeping changes we need in the way we are governed? The only thing I can figure is some pretty major networking and a willingness to set aside some degree of differences.
